Our Restless Feet

Finally, after a month of preparation our team gathered for our first ever out of town bonding. After our shift back on January 28, 2011 (just wanted to remember the date) we went to Tagaytay just for a day of fun, adventure and relaxing weekend. We had a stop over in SLEX to have breakfast at McDonalds and some picture taking moments to start our day. (FYI, Our team really loves photo shoot.) Back on the road, we started worrying due to the bad weather condition ahead of us. It started to drizzle which later on followed by fast and strong rain drops along the way. It’s a long drive going to our destination so everyone tried to keep themselves awake.  One van was rented but our team mate brought a car and that’s where I stayed with a little group of people from our team, mostly are close to me.  Everyone’s chit-chatting, cracking jokes and some are just singing to the melody played on the radio. (Well, that’s me to be more specific). The noise later on subsided to a moment of silence as everyone started to feel the exhaustion from work leaving me and the driver awake.  I was just quietly observing the view around while soothing myself with the relaxing music that envelopes me. I manage not to sleep to somehow entertain Mych while he’s driving to keep us safe. A couple of hours more we finally reached the location and our first stop is Picnic Grove. All of us are excited to get off the car to feel the cool breeze that welcomed us in spite of the unpredictable weather.  After paying the entrance fee, we proceed to the overlooking Taal View. It was truly breath-taking and stunning work of nature. The beauty of the scenery amazes me and makes me wonder how it was formed by God’s creative hands.  So then we started capturing the wonders of nature with us in it and appreciate its grandeur. Some of our team members take the urge to adrenaline rush and thrilling activities like zip lining while the rest watched them with awe. We also intended to do other group activities prepared by our Boss (Paps), but the rain started pouring again. It didn’t turn out the way we planned but at least we enjoyed our time together to unwind.  We move to our next stop over, Green Ats Restaurant, just along Tagaytay Area. The most awaited Bulalo moment is the climax of the whole trip. One by one, we ordered the must try in the menu. We had Bulalo (of course), Kare-kare, Chopsuey and Sisig.  The meal was awesome and flavorful plus the cozy ambiance and wonderful view of Taal Lake completes the package.  We get back on the road going to Cavite, our last stop to Kuya Joey’s place and continued the fun as the night sets in. At last we met his lovely wife and adorable daughter who welcomed us in their humble home. Another remarkable dinner cooked by Bev and other’s who volunteered in preparing our dinner while the rest started with Videoke and drinking sessions.  We discovered that a good number of people can sing very well from the group…to name some; Karen, Hart and even Paps took our breath away. I thought the night won’t be over as we sing our hearts out only then we realized that the Van we rented is until 9pm only. Some of us stayed for a little while to continue the party but finished off with unforgettable memories, bonded and strong team combined with great pleasure in our hearts as we continue to carry on with our relationship as a team. Looking forward for more time to chill out, unwind and have a stress-free get together with Team Optimus Prime (as we call ourselves). From this experience, I realized that work without fun could be extremely boring. A sincere thanks to all for this unforgettable happening! :)
